New Pilot's ability to push the boundaries of alternative rock and stay ahead of the curve is a result of two characteristics in the band: 1. their deeply rooted and wide ranging influences and 2. their desire to connect with people through strong lyrics and infectious melodies. The music is both eclectic and accessible and covers a wide rang of styles and sounds. New Pilot has had success throughout the Massachusetts’ music scene receiving several nominations and awards. They have shared the stage with national acts like Marcy Playground and Sponge, among others. The band has just released their second record, “Double Time Warp Sessions,” a 5-song EP that follows their debut album, “We Can’t Put It Together; It Is Together.” On their first album, the band brings rock, pop, country, jazz, hip-hop, and reggae all to the alternative genre. “Double Time Warp Sessions,” the band’s sophomore release, is a more focused effort and speaks to the band’s continued maturity as musicians, composers and songwriters. The album was recorded over the month of April 2011 at RMI studios with the help of producer Bill Ryan. The album kicks off a campaign to record and distribute as many records as humanly possible in the year of 2011.
