Closer to the HeART

Any and all art work is projected out from the heart. The mind is the domain of the academic, whereas the heart is centered in feelings and emotions. Art is best prepared to deal in feelings and emotions because they are unspoken and cannot always be described with words. Only thoughts and ideas. To anchor ourselves in the heart place when we are creating, we are ensuring that our work can be understood on any level, in any language. A book written in french will not make sense to someone who does not speak french fluently. But a painting created by a Frenchman will speak to any who have lived through the emotions that the artist is trying to get across. There is no need for cognition, because Art bypasses the logical entrances, and heads straight for the irrational and powerful heart "gate." How do artists find this place, and how does it affect what they do? What does it mean to create from the heart rather than the head? And how can we ensure that we can get to it at any time? Does art need a translator? Or are we born with one built in?
