Lies Told by the Apostate Clique

Feverish restlessness of the apostate clique regarding the black race of Cain is evidenced by the lies told that "Joseph ordained blacks". This lie is exposed by quoting Council Minutes of the Twelve, and Zebedee Coltrin was interviewed. A revelation by Joseph Smith was given upon the question to him of Zebedee Coltrin, "the Negro is not to be given the priesthood". Elijah Abel was ordained by Joseph Young a 70, but Joseph upon learning of his lineage (1/8 black) revoked the ordination, in other words a 1/8 black mulato, he appeared white.

 

The testimony of Caleb Shreeve is in Salt Lake Tribune Forum, 1970, as to His Grandfather being a personal friend of Elijah Abel, even baptizing his children, living in the same ward, testified of Joseph Smith revoking the ordination as told to him by Elijah Able himself many times.
