Sheila Seiler Lagrand lives with her husband Rich and their two dogs, J.D. and Doc, in beautiful Trabuco Canyon, California. She enjoys serving at her church, Trabuco Canyon Community Church, gardening, cooking, and most of all, spending time with their children and nine (so far) grandchildren. She has lived her entire life in southern California, except for a year spent in French Polynesia as she conducted research for her dissertation. She doesn't understand boredom and is passionate about words, their power, their beauty, and their care and feeding.
Sheila earned her doctorate in anthropology at the University of California, Los Angeles. As an undergraduate at the University of California, San Diego, she studied anthropology and literature with an emphasis in writing. Sheila is a member of The High Calling. As a young woman she published poems in dozens of literary magazines. She has also contributed to anthropology journals and contributed a chapter to the book Fieldwork and Families: Constructing New Models for Ethnographic Research.
More recently, her work has appeared in Wounded Women of the Bible: Finding Hope When Life Hurts, Paul's Letter to the Philippians (BibleDude Community Commentary Series), and a few volumes of Chicken Soup for the Soul. She has work forthcoming in Soul Bare. Her Christmas tale, Yankee Doodle Christmas, is available as part of Kathi Macias' the Twelve Days of Christmas series. The characters from Yankee Doodle Christmas live on in Remembering for Ruth, a serialized novel. The first installment, Paul Loves Snickerdoodles, is now available.
"A sequel which will likely please die-hard fantasy aficionados". -Kirkus Indie Love is the very food of life—or the death of it. Alana’s life changed forever the night she learned the dark and seductive truth of blood—and those who crave it. So far, she has managed to keep the secret from her mother, but her increasing involvement with the immortals has brought many things into her life. But the price she must pay for the thrill of an intoxicating romance with Christian may be higher than she can bear. Her life now is tinged with fear and danger, as well as a love that could span the centuries. Desperate after being hunted by the hideous Restless, Alana accepts the invitation from the ancients of the Other Forest. In their protection lies her only hope for survival, but that hope is short-lived. The ancients need her help. The more willing Alana is to help the ancients, the more she is drawn into their lives and terrors. Soon, she will learn the mystery of her own ancestry—and that knowledge will haunt her. Alana is given a dangerous task on the White Mountain—a realm of dark forces where she battles both life and death. Only time will tell whether the Restless and the renegade vampires that allied with the Dark Forest will be able to stop Alana’s quest. With his immortal powers distorted by the dark forces, Christian may not be able to protect Alana from the wrath of the witch—or himself from the murderous intentions of a rival.
Join Behind the Words host Lori Hays for a conversation with author Suzi M who writes as James Glass about his newest release!
Suzi M writing as James Glass
Lurking in a Pennslyvania town near historic Gettysburg, Suzi M is weaving webs of horror: including gothic, noir, ghosts, demons, angels, occult, and the occasional historic and/or post apocalyptic thriller. Her storytelling has been compared to that of Tanith Lee and HP Lovecraft. Writing under multiple pseudonyms, Suzi’s writing reflects and explores the thrill and the secrecy; the untold mysteries waiting in the shadows. In addition to a few other humans, including the tiny Hypnospawn, Suzi shares her home with a 30lb black house panther names Mr. Pants. When she’s not busy with her own work or getting pictures and autographs with people who recognize her on the street, Suzi helps support the efforts of independent artists, writers, musicians, and film-makers. She is also a self-described “fiberfreak,” finding time to spin, knit, crochet or weave when the muse allows. She will most likely achieve fame and fortune with her hand-crafted socks.

The Velocity of Now - Thomas Sheridan's Weekly Radio Show
EXCLUSIVELY ON TYPE1RADIO EVERY SUNDAY 7-9PM GMT
The world is changing fast. You are changing. Cousciousness is changing and along with it the very fabric of the reality we live in. The Velocity of Now is a weekly radio show by Thomas Sheridan, which will attemt to put a speedometer on, and when required, put the brakes on thge rapid changes taking place around us. To see how these changes affect our lives, emotions and relationships.
This is not a shift. This is a breakthrough, and we all have a personal part to play if we want to move out of this Psychopathic Control Grid, which has been foisted upon us. From the esoteric to the emotional, from cultural to the chaotic, from the artistic to the mystic - with a bit of humour and useful advice thrown into the mix -The Velocity of Now will seek to create the narrative which will unfold within us all, as the external narratives reveal themselves in the world around us. However, during this breakthrough, we'll be active participants and not helpless bystanders.
Have you ever had to hide what you read? Have you ever not read a book or a series because others have told you that it is wrong, evil, or other derogatory term ? Have you ever been turned down for a date, lost a friend, kicked out of a group, because you choose to read something they thought you shouldn't? Why do we have banned books? Inspired by a situation where a girl turned down a guy for reading the Hunger Games and Twilight, The Write Pack dives into the question—Are we judged by what we read and do we hide it?

Carmela Cattuti's BETWEEN THE CRACKS is the based on a true tale of a young girl's journey from Sicily to America in the early 20th century.
It begins with the horrors of the volcanic eruption, and resulting earthquake of Mt. Etna, and the loss that begins this brave heroine's quest for answers she may never find.
Based on the story of her aunt, this is a very human and moving account of the immigrant struggle.

The Authentic Woman is a weekly radio show, hosted by women's rights leader Shannon Fisher, sharing perspectives on the female experience through the eyes of her guests. The show delves deeply into the worlds of writers, artists, celebrities and community leaders, discovering their personal inspiration and passions.
From this week's Special Guest, Julia Torres Barden: "In 2013, I pushed my luck and I lived. I stared down my deepest fears and didn’t back down. I shared my vulnerability with strangers and they embraced me. I took so many risks that I exhausted myself to the brink of disaster. But I’m still standing and – because I survived – I thrived. I looked the boogeyman straight in the eye and he blinked first; leaving me victorious and free."
Shannon Fisher is the National Director of Unite Against Rape for UniteWomen.org, and she serves on the organization's Board of Directors. She was named one of the “People of the Year” by Style Magazine for her activism in women’s rights and is an ardent advocate for women.

Mz. Mimi, of Chicago, has been writing poems and short stories since the age of 12. By the age of 16 then living in a group home she’d decided she wanted to write be a writer. She started her first book several times talking herself out of finishing it each time. One day shortly after turning twenty five she was on the phone with her best friend, Toya of 11 years, discussing several of her past life issues and struggles she’d overcome when Toya said “Mimi you should write a book about your life, that shit would be a bestseller.” That day she started writing Love Vs. Loyalty, which she finished in a year and a half. She still wasn’t sure she’d publish it until May of 2013 when a close friend happened to find it laying around her house and read the whole thing in one sitting. After some convincing Mimi decided to send out her manuscript to several publishers just to see what would happen. Within 3 weeks she’d received five offers and decided on La’ Femme Fatale’ Publishing which she signed a contract with July 4, 2013. Mz. Mimi is currently working on her second book Love Vs. Loyalty 2: J.R.’s story as well as three other books all inspired by life events. She is also a fulltime student who is graduating May of 2014 from Ivy Tech State College with her Associates degree in Human Services and has a strong belief in God.

Debut author Lisa Alber joins Murders, Mysteries and Mayhem host Stephen Campbell to discuss her new book, KILMOON, a County Clare Mystery.
Lisa first joined Murders, Mysteries and Mayhem last September, when she provided a live report from Bouchercon. As you'll hear in this interview Lisa's attendance at conferences and writing retreats has played a significant part in twelve year march to having her first novel published. But here's a quick preview. After working with New York Times bestselling novelist Elizabeth George in three workshops, Ms. George invited Lisa to apply for a writing grant from the Elizabeth George Foundation, which funds upcoming writers amongst other philanthropic efforts. Lisa won a writing grant that allowed her to quit her day-job for a year so that she could devote full energies to her fiction.
Lisa lives in Oregon with a one-eyed dog, an accident-prone cat, and her trusty laptop. She likes photography, red wine, and scary movies. She’s an active member of Mystery Writers of America and Sisters in Crime.
