TMZ.com shows an image of the Michael Jackson Memorial Program as having a black cover, not a gold one.  Apparently, TMZ.com supports the representation of the book with the black cover.  What TMZ.com is showing on their site is also the ‘family and friends’ version of the Michael Jackson Memorial Program, i.e. the unique one with the black cover, which was supposedly handed out to only a select few at the memorial service that took place at the Forest Lawn Cemetery.  Apparently, at the last minute, the swap was done.

 For now, the people selling gold memorial books can keep them.  Yes they are a memento from the event, but, then again, is that where the value is?  That’s a rather selfish way of looking at things.  For it to be a memorial, one should honor the family’s wishes.  To lose a loved one can not be replaced by anything else, whatsoever.  It is just comforting to have special memories in sharing the last moments of Michael Jackson’s farewell.  I couldn’t imagine why anyone would want a tour book with a swapped cover, relative to that of Michael Jackson’s pictures from his family’s treasured photo albums.  Collectibles are just that, a memory to hold on to and to cherish for years to come from generation to generation.  Let us continue to keep our eyes open and do what is right by everyone.
