A Historical Glimpse In The Life Of “Michael Jackson”

How did Michael Jackson influence history?  Well, at the very young age of 5, Michael Jackson, nick named “Mike” became a leading light instantaneously!    Mike was born a cute African-American guy, who was exceptionally artistic.  Michael Jackson, although deterred by his childhood, sad and lonely, grew up surrounded by prominent people in his time.  Michael Jackson with his brothers became well renowned overnight as the “Jackson 5”!  Playing locally, they landed an opportunity to play in New York, New York, and from there went on to perform in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

They were discovered by Gladys Knight and pianist Billy Taylor at the famous Apollo Theater in Harlem.  Not only a superstar at the age of 5, Michael went solo at the age of 13.  His first #1 hit at age of 14 was “Ben” (a touching love song to a rat)!  Who would have ever imagined that?  Not one would ever imagine that he would get addicted to plastic surgery, face accusations of child molestation and end up America’s Most Famous Sideshow.  Michael Jackson was “The King of Pop”!  This was not a title that he gave himself, it was given!  Not only did he move the world, he moved his peers as well, among whom he had no equal.  He earned it!   No other performer in all of history has generated the massive sales that he did.   He drew volumes of excitement and mass hysteria.  There has never been one like him before and there will never be one paralleled to him, ever!  In 1976, the Jacksons left Motown and signed with Epic Records where they continued to crank out one hit after another.

In 1978, Michael ventured into film when he starred opposite Diana Ross in The Wiz, an African-American remake of the Wizard of Oz.  However, in 1982, that is just what Michael did with the release of a monster of an album called “Thriller”.  And beyond all comprehension, broke all kinds of records.  Yes, indeed, Michael Jackson was a “natural performer” far surpassing all the musical artists in his epoch.  And also, in the early 1980s, Michael Jackson became a dominant figure and the first African-American entertainer to gather together a strong cross-over following on MTV. In January of 2008, as part of the 25th Anniversary celebration, Michael allowed the song “Thriller” to be used in an ad campaign for Sobe Life Water.  His achievements are insurmountable!    Michael would continue his fame, planning a European Tour for 2009. As we all know, it would have been another memorial event!  Train, Strive, Be the best at what you do. Remembering the King of Pop and all the lives he touched ceaselessly.  For memorable collections, visit http://www.oncealivinglegend.com .
