Nurturing Our Roots Fine Arts Gallery in Amite, LA  is celebrating the living legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., by featuring a documentary film premiere- "The Untold Story" Slavery in the 20th Century, a panel discussion will address some of the social issues, educational resources and lack of resources in the Tangipahoa Parish community. 

Panelist: Professor Rebecca Hensley, Southeastern Louisiana University-Department of Sociology, Former Councilwoman Glyniss Gordon, Marcia Wilson-Sweethome Baptist Church Folklife Museum Curator, Antoinette Harrell-filmmaker/producer and retired educator, Kingsley Garrison. 

An art exhibition by local artist Kevin Buckley will be on exhibit. Also join host Antoinette Harrell is re-elected Councilman Jonathan Foster, he will talk about some of the social issues in the black community in Amite, LA.
