My family migrated as slaves  from Darlington, South Carolina in 1803. Fat Ole Levi the slaveholder, set out to claim terrorites for his family and his slaves  in Mississippi and Louisiana. The slaveholder and his slaves  were among the first to settle in Louisiana  and Amite County, Mississippi.

My 2nd great maternal grandfather Robert Harrell, his wife and, children were among those who were slaves owned by Fat Ole Levi. Robert Harrell lived to be hundred years old. He was born in 1821 and died in 1921 in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana
