My family migrated as slaves from Darlington, South Carolina in 1803. Fat Ole Levi the slaveholder, set out to claim terrorites for his family and his slaves in Mississippi and Louisiana. The slaveholder and his slaves were among the first to settle in Louisiana and Amite County, Mississippi.
My 2nd great maternal grandfather Robert Harrell, his wife and, children were among those who were slaves owned by Fat Ole Levi. Robert Harrell lived to be hundred years old. He was born in 1821 and died in 1921 in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana
