My maternal and paternal family tree roots run very deep in Tangipahoa and St. Helena Parishes, Louisiana. I have researched extenstively at the courthouse in both parishes and other research facilities. Now, I have turned my attention to the people in the community, especially the elderly people. They are rich in stories, photographs, and other historcial documents. By the way, I better not forget the obiturary collections they have.

I had the pleasure of meeting many eldely people a long my research journey.Three weeks ago I met Mrs. Mamie Holmes who baked some delicous tea cakes the day I visited her. The best I've taste since my mother made them. How are we preserving these family receipes, family heirlooms and, other family treadures that are still in our family?

Please join host Antoinette Harrell and her co-host Dr. Okpara Nosakhere for this important discussion.
