In the fall of 1943, at Camp Van Dorn, an Army base in  Southwestern MIssissippi, over one thousand black soldiers from the 364th Infantry were slaughtered. The perpetrators were not local white racists, but the United States Army itself. At Camp Van Dorn, the 364th were placed under extremely harsh disciplinary orders and unbelievable restrictions. Carroll Case, author  of the book in entitled " The Slaugther"  An American Atrocity  and Ron Ridenhour conducted an extensive investigaton of this massacre.
