Every year there's a different theme for February's celebration of African American History Month. This year's theme: "Black Women in American: Culture and History."
This year’s theme “Black Women in American Culture and History” honors African American women and the roles they played in the shaping of our nation. The theme, chosen by the Association for the Study of African American Life and History urges all Americans to study and reflect on the value of their contribution to the nation.
Many family historians and genealogist have unearth many untold stories of women who made great contributions to the lives of their families and the communites they live in. These unsung sheroes names will not be found in your history text books, newspapers, magazines and other media publications.
