Several  Student Ambassadors at South High School in Columbus, Ohio went beyond the call of duty by educating not only their fellow students but some  of their teachers on the subject of peonage and poverty. These students committed themselves to making a difference in the live of us. On May 9, 2011 the students were presented by the Columbus Rotary an "Citation of Excellence Award" For participating in "Youth Advocates Against Peonage and Poverty" Most Exemplary Project from South High School. High School " Service Above Self" Fair.  Nurturing Our Roots would like to thank Dr. Johnetta D. Wiley, Principal of South High School  and Columbus Rotary member Millie Droste for their excellence leadership.
