Antoine Christopher Smith, 2/28/2008: is a "phenom." This gifted, now 17-year-old composer and pianist has ideas and talent. Born on August 1, 1992 in Euclid, Ohio, he comes from a family of musicians, singers, dancers, composers, managers, and teachers. He is a first rate drummer and pianist who composes and plays contemporary jazz and other genres. He plans to enter an excellent music college, and continue his studies in composition and performance. ---*Updated note from label: Larry A. Russell, CEO Eroica, 7/7/2009: I'm also thinking about our Turn On Records artist, Antoine Smith and his radio interviews on Blog Talk Radio. We are keeping an eye on Antoine as a very talented and highly motivated young musician/composer/percussionist and singer. He has everything he needs to hit the big time, and is willing to do the practicing, performing, and heavy duty promotional expertise and work ethic. We expect big things from you Antoine. Best of luck to you and your career and continuing musical training and studies. Larry A. Russell, CEO, Turn On Records @ http://www.turnonrecords.com, Contact Me @ TOLL FREE 888-286-0397.

The Peoples Music Awards is all about what you want, so this week we are asking for your suggestions on how we can improve the site and services we offer.
Over the past few months we have added many features to make music more accessible to the people that matter (you), but we are always striving to improve the services we offer, so if you have any suggestions we'd love to hear from you.
The top 10 suggestions will receive 2 free tickets to the next awards ceremony.
Best wishes, The Peoples Music Awards
Antoine Smith - Best Male Solo Artist Big things are expected of Antoine Smith who drops this classy instrumental jazz track into the award to land the top spot in the best male solo chart.
Worryingly for others, the Ohio native is just 15-years-old but is already a gifted pianist, drummer and composer with ideas and skills well beyond his years.
His music is modern and exciting and it seems he has only just begun, so everyone else would do well to watch out. (Click here to listen now)
The Storys - Folk/Jazz/Classical/World Music
Fans of classic song-writing and west-coast style country rock should look no further than the Storys.
This six-piece from South Wales feature no less than four singer/songwriters and while for some too many cooks make a mess in the kitchen, these boys manage to turn out a tender ballad of slow-burning intensity.
This year they have been cooking up a storm at some of Britain's biggest festivals and have even toured with Elton John, such is his liking for their Eagles and Crosby Stills Nash & Young stylings. (Click here to listen now)
Kyle Tallman - Pop There is more than a little nod to jangly indie pop of yore to Kyle Tallman's brilliant slice of pop which may remind some thirty-somethings of their student days.
The singer-songwriter is just 22-years-old is still a student himself in the US, where he juggles penning his heartfelt songs about love and loss with studying and work.
It's not often you can say to someone "do give up your day job" but with tunes this sweet we'd shout it from the rooftops! (Click here to listen now)
Moodbase - Dance/Electronica Mr Moodbase is a clearly a very bad man. He has produced some seriously deep funky break-beat, which
would simultaneously scare the bejesus out of your gran, whilst making you dance around in your underpants.
He has been making dance music in his native Lithuania for 10 years and whatever they put in the water over there it sure gets the old booty shaking.
The DJ started out doing remixes before graduating to his own tunes of which Apocalypse is the second proper release. But if this is the sound of the end of the world then bring it on! (Click here to listen now)
Eponym - Off the beaten Track It's music Jim but not as we know it, in fact Eponym is a weird and wonderful trip around the outer limits of electronica.
Every Necessary Weapon of War is a bizarrely beautiful track, complete with rolling keys, off kilter singing and eerie George Bush samples, which they dub "experimental electro-folk."
Fans of Bjork, Portishead and Nick Drake should look no further for a dose of tuneful oddness. (Click here to listen now)
Krate Krusaders - Hip Hop/Trip Hop/RnB
The Krate Krusaders have clearly been delving through the history of Hip Hop and clearly know their stuff on the strength of this outing.
Straight out of Plymouth, the dynamic duo are Un Passa and Bad Habitz and they have certainly delivered a knock out track with the raptastic Glorious.
The track boasts big and beefy vocal performances, thoughtful lyrics and guest appearance from west London MC Crucifix. (Click here to listen now)
Neech - Funk/Soul/Blues
Proving their really is no substitute for originality Neech scoops the funk/soul/blues award this week with her ace twisting of soul, blues and electronica.
East London songwriter Neech influences include PJ Harvey, Jill Scott and Aretha Franklin and takes a left turn into new territory, adding a dark hue and hints of indie and even trip hop.
She already has a self-produced album in the can and there should definitely be more to follow, you can even join the Neech family on Facebook, and with music this good you'd be a fool not to. (Click here to listen now)
Beth Tysall - Best Female Solo Artist The Teacher who told a young Beth Tysall "you can't play Mary because your voice is too square," would probably like to eat their words these days.
Because on the strength of her singing on her power ballad Make Me Happy, the 22-year-old could probably play Jesus, Mary and Joseph and still have lungs to spare.
The Rubgy born singer has produced a great pop song which would give Kelly Clarkson or Heart a run for their money, "square voice" or not. (Click here to listen now)
Kropp Circle - Indie/Rock/Metal/Punk The angel faced boys from Las Vegas have shot to the top of the chart again with their perfectly crafted pop magic.
Now kings of the indie chart, they are three brothers from Nevada aged 12, 14 and 16, and one of whom started playing the piano at two - at which point I was still dribbling Farley's Rusks into my lap.
Apparently they write all their own songs, sing on them and play the guitar, drums, sax and probably some instruments yet to be invented.
In fact, you would hate them if they weren't quite so brilliant. (Click here to listen now)
