Ok, my understanding of the story of Moses is mostly limited to the classic movie, however, the story, or lesson is an appropriate one. Moses did not seek reform, he did not seek to strike a deal, he did not seek a plan to phase out enslavement, and he did not speak of alternative forms of enslavement. He led a principled argument for the total and immediate release of the slaves. That same discussion when held in today's political arena is branded uncompromising and politically undoable.
