It is with a sense of loss that I sit to write this blog.
Mr. Harvey Korman, often described as the best “second-banana” in show business, has passed away at the age of 81 on Thursday, May 29. He succumbed to complications resulting from the rupture of an abdominal aortic aneurysm four months ago. Many of us knew of Harvey’s recent health battles, but such knowledge never softens the blow.
Many of our listeners will remember our recent interview with Tim Conway, one of Harvey's close friends and colleagues. On the screen or on the stage, this team always found a way to make us forget our troubles and laugh heartily. Not just a chuckle, but a full-blown, bring tears to your eyes, belly laugh.
For me, Harvey will always be a part of my childhood memories of Friday nights, sitting by the television with my family and watching The Carol Burnett Show. Waiting with anticipation to see who on the show would lose it first. More often than not, it was Harvey. And we all loved it.
You may be gone Harvey, but you will always make us laugh.
