Hey, aren’t you lucky with back to back blogs! Ok so I did it, a promise is a promise..I *chortle* ate a doggie biscuit like I said the first time we went on cam. The night started with..preperation (no, hot h) here I was doing my hair and touching up my make-up at 8 pm..then I decided "I can’t possible hide this blemish" so I grabbed a snug shirt that Burl bought me. If you want to hide a flaw, then distract elsewhere!
So up when the cam and the dry heaves came early (Burl not me) the clock was ticking, the people came and ....the choice was chicken... (insert drums here) crunch crunch, I could handle that part, even through the blandness..Little S&P next time people ok..It was the swallowing that was not easy..but ta da, I did it.
Now one might ask "Annie, are you frickin’ nuts?" well, that’s a blog within itself but I never thought we would be where we are now. I didn’t realize I could have so much fun outside a bedroom with my hubby. Honestly, It’s a lot of work that we put into our shows. Most of you know what I’m talking about but truly the friendships that are made are the most enjoyable.
Also, I wanted to turn this into a positive experience to open up everyones eyes about doing little things. Our hearts our touched by Kb (Kristin) and her Operation Rapp Pack that she puts her heart and soul into for our troops. This isn’t about whether you support the war or not. Frankly, that’s your opinion. The fact is we all need to support our country and our men and women. I’ve seen the life before, I understand it but I think a lot of us get caught up in other things and we forget sometimes that a simple thing can make more of a difference to someone than you think. Send a book, send stamps to help with postage and handling, send boxed cookies. There’s even a website where you can even send a letter.
This doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Check out your library, yardsales, ask around and set up a collection. We feel very strongly about this. I mention the word "fortune" as we’re all very "fortunate" that we live in the country that we do. Yes, I know there are major problems, I can’t predict the future but I can say just take a little time and give our troops back some love and support. We need them just as much as they need us.
We always want and say we’re going to do something good. Pay it forward, here’s your chance.
I recommend like companies, schools do a food drive, etc. how about a book drive. It starts with 1. So far ORP (Operation Rapp Pack) has received about 800 books. Burl will be setting up a "how many books we’re at" at our website as well. www.annieburltalk.com Kb’s information is linked there.
Please forgive my mistakes I probably made in my blog. I try. A creative person I am, an English major I am not. But I can assure you my heart is nothing but sincere and filled with love.
Remember, for every 26 books ORP receives to represent Annie and Burl Live’s 26 minutes of quality entertainment we guarantee I will eat another doggie biscuit, with pride! If it takes something corny and cooky to bring in the books, etc that we need. I’m just the girl to do it. If you’re not original, you’re easliy forgotten and I’m not forgettable, either are our troops.
Now I must plot the best way to hump the mailman’s leg and possibly chase a firetruck. Hmm, acting like a pooch isn’t so bad afterall.
