Our guest host Gary Parkins will help us explore ways of thinking about Art Installation and how the venue influences the outcome. Gary produces sculptures by creating machines that emit transparent glue while it is momentarily fluid. They spin and drape individual strands over tightly pulled string armatures. With time, these many thousands of gossamer filaments, when infused with white light, create shimmering works. Some present elegant illusions, others exhibit geometric principles; all invite contemplation.
