    Action Steps

    Many think that when they have a difficult time to get motivated they can’t take action. They think they need to feel motivated first. In actuality taking an action step is what gets you motivated!

     

    There are many ways to taking action. First you want to look back on earlier exercises we covered such as what your goals are, even the ones about just having more time. Once you look these over you then can decide what would be good first baby step action.

     

    For example, if you wanted more time to meditate or have time for you, you could start by making a calendar. I always have my clients start with a week only first. Write out what would be the best time for you, and then write it in on however many days a week you feel comfortable starting with. Then write in al the other things you have to do during the week. This is great in theory but if you do not stick to it you will have no results. So, you must treat this appointment with you just as honorably as you would an appointment with another. So, if you marked 10 to 11 am for you and someone asks you to do something at that date and time you must say I am sorry I have an appointment already.

     

    The reason I suggest a week first is because you may have thought that was a great day and time but find out as you walk through the week, it isn’t. If it worked, great and then make it out for the following week the same way, but if it was just too much interruption or difficult, then write the next week out trying a different date and time. If it is too difficult then it will become easy to get off of the plan and sabotage the self. It is also good to start with one action and put it on the calendar and then after a month you can add a second action to the calendar, this way will ensure a better chance of success. Before you know it you will actually be doing more in your life the way you truly want to live it!

     

    Another form of action is to have boundaries. If one of the goals you were working on is not to compromise yourself with others or to not be an over giver to the point of draining yourself then you must create boundaries. The way to take an action step on this is to write down a list of people you tend to compromise yourself with. Then once you have this, in what way do you compromise. It might be that you drop everything the minute this person thinks they need you and it is often, and it disrupts you and your family routines. If this is the case and action plan would be to do the following:

    a)     Make a vow to you that for one week when they call, you say to them instead, I am so sorry you have this dilemma, but I really believe in you and know you will figure it out.

    b)    Another is to vow to yourself for one month you will just say no to this person.

     

    It would depend on your situation and the boundary you want to have in your life by what action step would be appropriate. If you would like ideas or help with this you can write in a question on the blog or ask on the show.

     

    Action steps can be small at first and work up to bigger ones as you grow. No matter where you are on your journey you can incorporate action steps all the time in all given times of the day.

     

    In order to live in action every moment of my life I have incorporated all sorts of ways to have action in my daily moments in the world. For example, I may set the intent for my day to be more loving and spread joy in my day. Then through out my day I will make conversation with grocery clerks, do something to make someone smile or do a nice action as pay for the person behind me at a toll booth or something similar. Action is a great energy force and as you do little works of action you will see your life changing much faster in all areas.

     

    Another way I add action in my day is when I garden. As I weed I use that energy by applying intent. I will do a moving meditation by focusing on what I want to remove in my life as I weed. When I plant new flowers, I add intent as I am doing the action that I am planting new opportunities in my life. As I water or give plant food to my garden I focus on all those new opportunities and that I am feeding them and nurturing them to fruition.

     

    There are many ways to start action and put the stronger message to the universe of what you are manifesting. If you want to take your new dreams and focus on one and start action you can make a vision board. If you want your dream house you can start looking at them by going to the open house whether you are ready to buy or not. A dream job, you can start to research how to get into it on the internet, make a booklet out of the information you collect and read it time to time. See if there are any steps in that research you can take now to prepare for that dream job. No limits let your imagination role.

     

    The most important part is to start with some action step to put things in motion. Once you do you have set energy in motion then things will just come and find you that are more steps.
