This week we cover the Roots of Racial Profiling, and how it is applied today, "The name has changed but the races are the same." This show is a must listen for those who want to know the history behind Racial Profiling. In the past America had Jim Crow, "An Act to Regulate Negroes Coming & Going", and an attempt to quantify people by race (Mulatto, Colored, Black, Mestizo). The one thing that allowed People of Color to be targeted was the Law. Anytime racism flared up in America, it was always supported by laws. After the desired results were achieved the laws were relaxed. Now that Americans are losing wealth and power, they are looking for a group to target. Hispanics are on the front lines, and African Americans are not too far behind. The laws of Colonial America are still in play although some are no longer on the books. Let's take a look at how these laws affected People of Color in the past and the push from Conservatives to implement them now. African Americans should pay attention to this saying, "If they come for them in the morning, they will be coming for me in the Noon Day." This is a show that should not be missed. Each week Host Anita Wills takes on an issue that related to genealogy, African American, and Native American History. Tune in and Listen Up!!
