    The Language Of Homeroom

Cooler mornings have been sunny in Northern Virginia during the past few days.  There have been light breezes throughout the days of summer which are becoming shorter.  Another academic year is around the corner and discussions are turning towards making plans for it's arrival.  The weekend is tax free in Virginia for school supplies up to a certain amount of money.

A bag that had been opened was tossed onto the deck scattering Cheetos.  Watching from inside of the house,  the birds carried them away into the distance.  These included cardinals and bluebirds.  Squirrels who have made their constant arrival through the spring and summer months feasted quietly.  A red fox crept up the staircase.  Walking across the deck,  he stood looking through the windows where he was lost in thought for moments.

Your homeroom is going to be where classroom action begins.  The mornings are going to be filled with planning,  thoughts and discussions which will be long remembered within the walls of your homeroom and far beyond.  To begin an ESL or homeschooling homeroom,  there are basic supplies necessary.  The first of these should be a notebook, a pen, an English dictionary and a clock.  The clock could be a paper one with large and small hands that can be rotated.  The key is to know what time homeschool begins.  What language the time is told in or what part of the world the mornings begin makes the homeroom a world of it's own.
