When reading about factory farming and animal slaughter, it seems we mostly hear mention of cows, pigs, chickens. What about fish? That’s right. Fish are also farmed, and they are also slaughtered. Here's a little known statistic - approximately 8.4 billion fish are killed for food, each year, in the U.S.

While other animals are, supposedly, stunned prior to being killed, fish are not. In fact, undercover footage obtained by Mercy for Animals shows live and fully conscious fish: having their skin pulled off using pliers, bodies cut in half, and heads torn off.

On this episode, Eddie Garza, Mercy for Animals’ New York Campaign Coordinator, will tell us about their investigation into a fish slaughterhouse, and what the experts say about fish intelligence, their ability to feel pain and to suffer.

Please join us, in what will surely be an eye opening discussion, on a little talked about food animal.
