    Should Recruiting Blogs Be Bland?

    Date: Wed March 14, 2007
    Time: 12:00 Noon

There are two blogging cultures: 'Kiss Kiss' and 'Bang Bang'.

Kissy-Kissy says: "My blog is advertising. The goal is to make me look good to my clients. It's is not a place for a debate. If someone criticizes me, I might seem imperfect. And when anyone searches my name thereafter, Big Brother Google will show them my flaws. And that's bad for business."

Bang-Bang says: "No one wants to read your corporate propaganda. To attract attention, a blog has to be interesting. And nothing is more interesting than a free discussion of the key topics in your field."

So, here are the questions: Should recruiting blogs indulge in controversy?
Or should we give recruiting bloggers a free pass on criticism?

Kiss-Kiss or Bang-Bang? You tell me. On The Recruiting Animal Show.
