I deleted the yesterday's episode on this cause I found it to be a bit sloppy and I got  a bit mixed up on my facts at that moment. So I shall redo this episode and make it better. Many Jews [including many Rabbis] say that Gaza is not part of the land of Israel, since it was part of Philistina during the times of the Tenakh and since Gaza was not given to the 12 tribes of Israel. However, Gaza was part of Judah during the Hasmonean Dynasty. And Jerusalem was not given to the 12 tribes of Israel either, since David conquered it long after Joshua became a dead man. Some areas of pre-1967 Israel were just as much part of Philistina. Yet this argument has been used to justify Israel retreaitng from Gaza and the disengagement plan. A few Torah portion ago shows that Isaac settled in Grerar, which was part of Phlistina eve while the God of Israel commanded him to settle in the land of Israel. And God told Isaac in Grerar that he plans to give all these lands to Israel. So that crushes the argument that Gaza is not part of Israel since it's part of Philistina into bite size pieces.
