Angelica is honored to invite Barry M. Panter, M.D. Ph.D to the show today. Dr. Panter is a Fellow of The American Psychiatric Association. Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at The University of Southern California School of Medicine.(emeritus) He is a Training and Supervising Analyst at The Southern California Psychoanalytic Institute (emeritus). He is the first author and co-editor of Creativity and Madness —Psychological Studies of Art and Artists. And Creativity and Madness Psychological Studies of Art and Artists volume 2 and 33 Poems for Mary Lou He is the Founder and Director of The American Institute of Medical Education, a non-profit educational organization that provides continuing education to physicians, psychologists, and other mental health professionals. The Institute has held over 100 conferences in The United States, Europe, and Australia, since its founding in 1982. He is a Fellow of The American Psychiatric Association, a past member of The American Psychoanalytic Association, and The International Psychoanalytic Association. He has given lectures on the psychology of numerous artists including Puccini, Beethoven, Schumann, Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Picasso, Marc Chagall, Matisse and Monet, at conferences in The United States and in many countries in Europe. He has been an invited lecturer at The University of Colorado School of Medicine, The Denver Psychoanalytic Institute and The Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Panter is certified by The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, The American Board of Pediatrics, and The American Psychoanalytic Association.
