There’s a “civil war” of sorts, brewing in America. On the heels of the Newtown, Connecticut shooting, politics are back in full force, with “gun control” advocates demanding, seemingly with the support of Barack Obama, to enact severe restrictions on firearms possession.

The NRA, largely silent until today (Friday, December 20), at a press conference, called for having an armed guard at the nations’ schools, to serve as a deterrent to the carnage at Sandy Hook Elementary School. They also reiterated the call for a national database of mentally ill citizens, so at least they will not be able to possess firearms.

Now that Susan Rice is out of the running for Secretary of State, Barack Obama has nominated John Kerry. Says Mr. Obama, "John's played a central role in every major foreign policy debate for nearly 30 years," Obama said. "As we turn the page on a decade of war, he understands that we have to harness all elements of American power and ensure that they're working together, diplomatic and development, economic and political, military and intelligence as well as the power of our values which inspires so many people around the world." (HIS words, not MINE!)

In the meantime, the outgoing Secretary, Hillary Clinton, suddenly took ill, as the State Department prepares to deal with hearings on Benghazi. Good news for her; she’ll get to testify after she fully recovers, in January.

Of course, there’s the ever-looming Fiscal Cliff, which could mean higher taxes for all, if there’s no compromise between the White House and the House of Representatives.
