OYA AS IYAMI

Tonight, we area talking about Oya.  Most os ys relate or refer to her as Orisa, the Warrior Woman who grows a beard like a man; she fighs the battles that Sango cannot win.  In Odu, it has been said that she, the wife is stronger than her husband.  To night we will discuss her as Iyami, she is Iyami, you know.  She is one of The Mothers.  I suspect from time to  time we will discuss other female Orisa as well as Iyami.
