Join us on Monday February 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the morning for a conversation with Kevin Beckner. He has been a County Commissioner for Hillsborough County, Florida since 2008 - Present for the past 7 years. Commissioner Beckner has been a champion for at-risk children and their families. He created the Juvenile Justice Task Force whose mission is to help at-risk youth become more productive citizens within our community. He continues to promote fiscal responsibility, sustainable growth with respect for the environment and transparency in government, as well as advocating for a multimodal transportation system.

As part of his duties as a County Commissioner, Beckner currently serves on the following Boards and Councils: Chairman of the Hillsborough County Environmental Protection Commission, (EPC). Arts Council, Children's Board, Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority (HART). Metropolitan Planning Organization, and Public Safety Coordinating Council (PSCC).

Kevin has led:

* The formation of the Juvenile Task Force

* Regulating & shutting down abusive Pain Clinics (Pill Mills)

* Creating the Hillsborough County First Responders Fallen Heroes Fund and Memorial Tribute

* Led the effort to create and pass (first in the State of Florida) legislation to stop insurance fraud via staged auto accidents
