Many of you realize that a lot of emergency gear can be found at local hardware, camping, and department stores.  But do you really know how well that stuff is going to work when you really need it?
As you know by now, I spent last weekend at the provincial meet in Huntsville, Ontario.  For accommodations I decided to take the family camping for 3 nights at Arrowhead Provincial Park.  Not only was this an inexpensive way to accommodate a family of six, but was a great opportunity to test out some gear.  I had lots of stuff with me that I wanted to put through the paces and was impressed with some, and disappointed with others.  This week, I’ll share my findings with you on everyday equipment that you may be considering for your emergency gear.
Join me as I discuss camp stoves, kerosene lanterns, various battery operated lamps, and how I used an inverter connected to my car battery to supply power to an unserviced campsite.
