The tides have turned!  If we look back about one year ago, it was a hard time to be a prepper.  Discussions of impending doom from various scenarios such as the Mayan calendar, Niburu, and a multitude of other world ending nonsense dominated the news, internet, and even the prepper community.  You couldn’t use the word prepper without someone adding the word doomsday in front of it…thanks to that now famous television show.

But now we have a whole new set of issues developing.  Floods in Alberta, wild fires in Quebec, throw in a few thwarted terrorist attacks, and we are now faced with the perfect opportunity to talk to our neighbors, family, friends and coworkers about being prepared.  I’ll give a few dos and don’ts to consider when you decide (and you should decide) to start spreading the preparedness mindset.
After all that, I’ll talk a little bit about the Emergencies Act and look at the recent RCPM gun confiscations during the Alberta floods.
