First it was Toyota - then it was Honda - then Ford and now Honda again? What the hell is going on with automakers? This affects everyone and gives all automakers foreign and domestic a black-eye.
Toyota Motor Corp.’s Prius hybrid car is under investigation by the U.S. Transportation Department for reports of defective brakes in its 2010 model, adding to recalls and safety questions facing the world’s largest automaker. The department’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has received 124 reports from consumers, including four saying crashes occurred, with two “minor” injuries, according to the investigation document.
Almost 8 million Toyota vehicles have already been recalled worldwide for defects leading to sudden acceleration. Trouble with the Prius would tarnish the reputation of what the company has called its flagship model.
Let's explore the latest recall for Toyota (as well as Honda and Ford), who up until recently had been considered one of the top quality automotive manufacturers around the world. We'll discuss this as well as the other recalls that are horrifying this Japanese automaker - if you dare to handle the truth on tonight's GM Report! The guest call-in number is 646.716.4965.
