Nearly two years after a white police officer, Darren Wilson, fatally shot a black teenager, Michael Brown, in Ferguson, Missouri, we are yet faced again with another grim reality of death by police. This past week we have seen and witness not one but two fatal police involved shootings of innocent Black Men that were captured and documented on video.
On Tuesday July 5, Alton Sterling, a black man in Baton Rouge, was fatally shot when two white officers pinned him to the ground outside a convenience store. The video that was captured on tape by the store owner went viral and shocked the country and Black America. Once again an old familiar wound that open with the murder of Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice, and EricGardener has reopened. Less than 24 hours later, Philando Castile, of Falcon Heights Minnesota was fatally shot after a traffic stop.
