Going Whole Hog on Green Energy - Shades of Green Co-Founders Discuss Alternative Energy

Everyone wants nice pretty green energy from the sun and the wind. But how about using pig crap? No, we are not suggesting you hook up a bunch of pigs to a treadmill with a generator and put a big bowl of sloppy cornmeal in front of them and watch'em light up your flat screen TV. We are talking turning pig poo poo into voltage! You say it is impossible and the idea stinks? Well, our guest Lloyd Lipman and his company Ellington Environmental Energy (E3) say not only is it possible, but it is a super solution that reduces pig and other animal waste from the environment from agri-farms, reduces carbon an methane emissions, protects waterways, and generates - please excuse the euphemism - a s**tload of electricity. So, hotshot, doesn't that idea smell great now? Guest Speaker: Lloyd Lipman, President, Ellington Environmental Energy (E3) Lloyd has more than 30 years experience in the energy and environmental fields. He began his career with a national organization in the energy conservation industry designing energy savings programs and equipment for major retail chains, hotels, hospitals and industrial facilities. He created his own cogeneration facilities in manufacturing on the east coast and luxury hotels in Hawaii including the first medical waste to energy plant in the country in New York in the 1980s. He has owned and operated one of the largest privately held medical waste treatment companies in the country as well as Florida’s largest soil remediation company. As a consultant in the energy and environmental fields, he has worked with BFI, Waste Management, Attwoods, O’Brien Energy and Asea Brown Boveri on various projects domestically and internationally. Lloyd is based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
