Developing countries are perhaps the most in need of renewable energy and conservation projects because of their poverty, lack of grid electricity, and highly polluting power sources. Dave McCoy is founder of Unleash Power for the People, which funded the installation of solar panels on a rural school in the Philippines. Alden Hathaway is project manager and board of directors member of Solar Light for Africa. Cathy Ha Lam is founder of Our 1 World, which funds solar cookers and solar-powered ceiling fans for Vietnam. Barry Leneman and Giulio Zavolta are members of Necessity Housing, which is focused on building sustainably.
