Sorry, Dunker ... but we absolutely warned EVERYONE at the TOP OF THE SHOW that there may be spoilers contained within for ANY SHOW that is broadcast already in the United States. I couldn't make that warning any clearer. If you chose to continue listening, KNOWING that "Torchwood" has aired its COMPLETE season in the United States, then I'm sorry, that was your decision.

WTF, I live in Canada and Season 2 of Torchwood has NOT aired but thanks for ruining it for me...

    Category: Television

On Aug. 13, 1998, Michael Hinman launched a Web site known as Syfyman's World. It was meant to be a marketing experiment as he wanted to do a full-fledged television site. Instead, SyFy has become the new term for science-fiction. Join us as we celebrate 10 years of SyFy Portal!

Revamping SyFy Sunday ... and spinning it off

So what happened to SyFy Sunday? Did it die?

Nope! It's being revamped, and it's finding a new home ... actually, it already found a new home at BlogTalkRadio.com/SyFySunday

I like having more than one regular show on per week, but having it all here on SyFy Radio just wasn't working, especially since in order for it to work properly, SyFy Sunday has to be more different from SyFy Radio than simply the lack of a scheduled guest.

So, I have decided to move SyFy Sunday to its own home, and we will begin airing episodes of SyFy Sunday in its new format beginning May 11. So yes, there will be no show on May 4 as we work to get this all revamped (sorry about that!)

This will be great, because now SyFy Sunday will be allowed to evolve on its own, and instead of getting stuck with me every Sunday, we will rotate staff from SyFy Portal in as hosts, and they'll all be taking your calls.

No worries .. I'll make sure I'm in the rotation so that once in a while you can hear me there, too.

So let me know what you think! This will allow SyFy Radio to evolve on its own as well, including opening us up for more specials outside our regular Wednesday show.

So it should be fun. :)

    Star Trek: Odyssey on Wednesday!

    Hey everyone!

We had a great time with Joe Beaudoin Jr. last week, and now we're getting set for Wednesday's show with the fan-produced Star Trek series "Star Trek: Odyssey."

I'll welcome Brandon McConnell, the star of "Odyssey" and its publicity producer Beo Fraser beginning at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.

We originally were going to have executive producer Rob Caves on with Brandon, but it seems our show will be on at the same time "Odyssey" will host its fan chat, so we're going to force all the viewers of this great online show to split time between the official chat and SyFy Radio. Sorry guys! :)

Please make sure you join us, and let all your friends know!

  • Original Air Date:

    SyFy Sunday - 4/27/2008

Is Wednesday night's show on too late for you? Well, get a second chance to talk about your favorite science-fiction with Michael Hinman and other members of the SyFy Portal staff for SyFy Sunday!

  • Date / Time:

Listen to the archive for some great Battlestar talk!

I was VERY happy with this past Wednesday's SyFy Portal, and if you haven't heard it, then you need to see if you will be happy with it as well!

We had an awesome chat with Joe Beaudoin from Battlestar Wiki. Soon after that, we had Nathan Lilly from SpaceWesterns.com who believes he may have cracked the Battlestar Galactica Last Supper picture.

Plus, Nick Chase and his wife Sarah told us more about Second Life, and the SyFy Complexus that we're building there!

So, if you're bored, wish me a happy birthday, even though it ended three minutes ago. :)

    See you Sunday at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT!

  • Original Air Date:

    SyFy Radio -- Battlestar Wiki

Join SyFy Portal's Michael Hinman on SyFy Radio with scheduled guest Joe Beaudoin Jr., one of the people behind Battlestar Wiki (www.battlestarwiki.org) as well as some of the great people behind SyFy Portal talking about the week in science-fiction. Battlestar Wiki and SyFy Portal were named as part of the best BSG Web sites according to AOL. Also, we have Nathan Lilly who believes he may have cracked the code hidden in the Battlestar Galactica Last Supper photo!

  • Date / Time:

Composer for 'Justice League: New Frontier' visits SyFy Radio

Kevin Manthei, the composer of the new DC Comics DVD "Justice League: New Frontier" will be our special guest on SyFy Radio May 14 at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.

Manthei has composed music for a number of productions and video games, including Nancy Drew properties, the "Shark Tale" game, the "Shrek 2" game and more.

He'll talk about his latest work, and what's coming up next for him with Michael Hinman on May 14, so be sure to tune in!

  • Date / Time:

SyFy Sunday expands to 90 minutes

If you missed our first SyFy Sunday show (yes, I'm looking at YOU Laura, lol!), then you can still hear all of it right here at BlogTalkRadio!

We're still playing with the format a little bit, but I think it turned out great. However, after just one show, we do have a couple of changes.

First off, we're expanding the show to 90 minutes. We'll see if the callers and such will carry the show, but I know that yesterday, I had to cut everyone off, and we didn't even get to "Battlestar Galactica" yet. I think expanding it by another 30 minutes will be great.

Also, you know how we always bring in a member from the SyFy Portal staff after the headlines? Well, for SyFy Sunday, that person will now stay on through the rest of the show as the co-host. If you listen to the first show, we kept columnist Ed Left on for most of the show, and he was awesome. He and Raissa got into a great conversation, and I think it's awesome to have another perspective there.

So expect beginning next Sunday at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT more time, more phone calls from people like YOU!, and a co-host. :)

I will continue to host SyFy Sunday through the end of May (remember that on Memorial Day weekend, SyFy Sunday will not air because we're doing a special broadcast Saturday night from Oasis 21 in Orlando). After that, I will host probably every other week, which will allow some of our other staff members to step in and run the SyFy Sunday show.

I'm sure it will be great!

I will continue hosting the regular SyFy Radio show on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT, so no worries there. :)

Don't forget that this week we have Joe Beaudoin Jr. from Battlestar Wiki, and in just a few weeks, we'll be bringing on David Gerrold, the famous writer of the "Star Trek" episode "Trouble With Tribbles." That will take place May 21 at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.

If you have NOT subscribed to us on iTunes yet, please do it now! Go to your iTunes store, type in "syfy" in the search line, and you'll find us. Subscribe to us for FREE and get archives of ALL of our shows! Don't leave home without us!

    See you Wednesday!
