  On Aug. 13, 1998, Michael Hinman launched a Web site known as Syfyman's World. It was meant to be a marketing experiment as he wanted to do a full-fledged television site. Instead, SyFy has become the new term for science-fiction. Join us as we celebrate 10 years of SyFy Portal!

  April 4, 11:30 p.m. ET/ 8:30 p.m. PT -- "Battlestar Galactica" special. SCHEDULED GUEST: David Weddle, producer of "Battlestar Galactica" and one of the writers of the season premiere that is airing that night (David Weddle will be pre-recorded because of scheduling conflicts)

  
  

  April 9, 11 p.m. ET/ 8 p.m. PT -- SCHEDULED GUEST: Eugene W. Roddenberry Jr., (http://roddenberry.com) son of the late creator of Star Trek, visits SyFy Radio and will take YOUR calls!

  April 23, 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT -- SCHEDULED GUEST: Joe Beaudoin Jr., a Webmaster with the popular Battlestar Wiki site (http://battlestarwiki.org). For those who don't know, both Battlestar Wiki and SyFy Portal were named as part of the 10 best "Battlestar Galactica" Web sites by AOL. Joe will also be chatting a bit about Galacticruise (http://galacticruise.com)

  Test show was a ... SUCCESS!

  If you missed the live broadcast of the first ever broadcast of SyFy Radio, then you really missed out!
  
  Make sure you download an archive version of the show. We were unscripted, outside of a few headlines, but it sure turned out pretty good.
  
  We were first joined by Nick Chase, the lead programmer for SyFy Portal who informed us that he hasn't watched television since Nixon resigned.
  
  Then we were joined by SyFy Portal news editor Wayne Hall from Washington, D.C., who provided some tremendous insight, and kept the show going the two times that my phone decided to bump me out of the show.
  
  We also were joined by David from GateWorld, the absolute best Stargate Web site on the Internet. We're big fans of our friends at GateWorld, and it was great to have him on.
  
  Next week, we are scheduled to have Daniel Malen, better known as The TV Addict (www.thetvaddict.com) to talk a little bit about the big fourth season premiere of "Battlestar Galactica," which we can hear on the SciFi Channel. So be sure to come back and listen on our regular night and time, Wednesday, April 2 at 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT.

  Trial show tonight

  Good evening, everyone!
  
  Sorry if you were given a different address to visit. For some reason, we were having some technical difficulties with the first account we tried to open up on BlogTalkRadio, so we decided to try a new account and see if we had the same problem.
  
  Good news! We're all set to go!
  
  And we're going to do a test run show tonight. That's right, at 11:30 p.m. ET, we're going to go through a rather rough test run of SyFy Radio as we get ready for our official premiere, which will be next week.
  
  SyFy Radio airs Wednesdays at 11 p.m. ET right here. Join us live so that you can chat and even call in (register for free first!). If you can't, then feel free to subscribe to our iTunes feed and get the show anytime you want beginning Friday morning.
