Going to Mars first looks at why science is important for science fiction production and what science fiction does that influences science.  We focus on a pivotal event—an event that changed the direction of science and science fiction. 1953 takes us back to the discovery of DNA by Watson and Crick and the remembrance of some of the most celebrated classic science fiction.  It changed how scientists look at science today and provides us with the joys of our imaginations.

We review three classic Mars movies and four recent ones.  We also discuss three, new and exciting books that will surely tantalize any science enthusiast.   Then all these are tied together in the marriage of science and science fiction.
