As an 'old mortgage hag' for over 27 years I get to say 'I told you so'! Investor's were so blinded with greed they were willing to purchase mortgages with no income/no asset verification and borrowers with credit that proved they've never paid a bill on time in their life!

Over the 9+ year run of sub-prime loans our company was pressing loan officers and borrowers to learn about FHA loans. This is the best and safest product for someone with a less than perfect life. No one wanted to listen because the other products 'seemed' like a good deal and the LO's were paid more so they were good at convincing people.

You'd think the internet would provide customers access to better information. Wrong! The scammers have moved on line. I hope to share my insight and save a few people from the crooks who pose as mortgage people.

There are a lot of great, customer focused, ethical mortgage professionals. I hope to help people identify how to find one and how to ask the right questions.
