Although we may associate death with the great unknown, it is the one thing in life we can know with certainty, that one day, we will die. It is the not knowing for certain where we go after we die that makes many of us live in fear of death. For this very purpose, death reminds us to live life joyfully. Death reminds us to live the kind of life that gives you the peace of mind, knowing that showed your appreciation for the gift of life. But that seems like an impossibility when some one close to you dies and you are left with a crushing grief threatening to explode your heart into a million unrecoverable pieces. These are stories about what I learned from the death of loved ones. And what I have yet to comprehend. Stories of loved one’s reaching out with messages for the living, and the story of a mother’s faith acknowledging that God was calling her little boy home and praying for the strength to accept it.
