Alchemist Radio is back this Wednesday night & we are proud to present to you; Weidman Wednesday!

New UFC middleweight champion & fellow Long Island native, Chris Weidman shocked the world this past Saturday night when he knocked out Anderson Silva early in the 2nd round at UFC 162.

To celebrate his victory we are bringing on four men who have a unique connection to the new UFC middleweight King. Leading things off will be Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson & Ray Thompson. Weidman brought the two up to NY twice in the span of 2 weeks to help him prepare for this career defining fight. Wonderboy was brought in for his unique striking ability & Ray offered his expertise which he has gathered over the past four decades. We will also discuss Stephen’s next fight against Chris Clements which will take place at UFC 165.

Joining us next will be UFC lightweight & TUF season 15 finalist Al Iaquinta. The Wantagh, NY native trains alongside Weidman with the Serra-Longo fight time in Garden City, NY. At 26 years old, Iaquinta has a bright future in the sport & can only get better training with such a great crew.

One of the nicest, most respected trainers in all of MMA, Ray Longo will tell us how it feels to be the coach of his 2nd UFC champion. Longo was on 3 weeks ago & guaranteed Weidman would win & bring that belt back home to Long Island. Longo is known for the close bond he has with his fighters and having witnessed how he interacts with them firsthand, I can only say he has created a true family environment.

The Fight Scientist Reed Kuhn is back after a brief hiatus to go over the past week’s events. Kuhn was on hand to witness what many are calling the second biggest upset in UFC history.

Last, but certainly not least we will talk to Invicta FC strawweight and WMMA favorite, Bec Hyatt. Rowdy Bec will face Mizuki Inoue at Invicta FC 6 this Saturday.
