ALAN GELL, long-time automotive journalist, interviews MIKE BETZ about the new 2013 Nissan Pathfinder.  Mike is the Lead Development Technician for Vehicle Performance at Nissan.  (All that really means is that Mike is a boni-fied "tech-ee.")

The interview took place in the Napa Valley area of Northern California during a Nissan-sponsored media event during October 2012.

The 2013 Nissan Pathfinder shares the same name as the previous vehicle by that name, but not much else.  This is really a new SUV, longer, wider, more room - inside and out.  It holds 7 adults in 3 rows.  The second row seats slide and fold easily, even with a car seat installed, to allow easy access to the third row seat area.

It is powered by a 3.5 liter V-6 engine and matched with a new and more fuel-efficient CVT transmission.  It offers comfort combined with great towing ability and terrific value.
