The 2013 Mustang is getting some changes.  Alan Gell discusses the media ride & drive event held in Portland, Oregon in March.

For 2013, Mustang is getting a new design, most notable in the front and rear fascias.  The front grill is more prominent.  The front and rear lighting feature unique ‘signature’ lights that are certainly distinctive.  The rear taillights are bright LED style with a dramatic presentation.  The side mirrors project a light beam of a ‘pony’ emblem onto the ground immediately adjacent to the car.  There are more wheel choices.  These are only the outward changes for 2013.

Under the hood, the performance has been updated significantly, especially on the GT model.  The GT sports a 5.0 liter engine that delivers 420 horsepower.  The ‘Boss’ 302 Mustang model has the 444 horsepower engine.  The 2013 Mustang is available with the optional six-speed SelectShift Automatic.  This is an advanced control that allows the driver to switch between fully automatic or drive as a manual shift.
