The regular Cruze models are EPA rated at 24-mpg city and 36 mpg highway.   I approached the 40-mpg figure for our week’s test drive. This is a good mileage figure, but all small sedans are getting higher mileage figures.   The 2012 Eco model Cruze is EPA rated at 42 mpg and most careful drivers will exceed 50 mpg.  (This Eco Cruze was the vehicle referred to by President Obama when he talked about the US auto industry producing cars in the US that had 50-mpg fuel economy.)  This is a gasoline powered car and not a hybrid.

The Chevy Cruze is a really good compact sedan and is certainly better than the old Cobalt.  It has nice styling, good handling, and a really good interior.  The fit and finish inside is well done.  It is certainly packed with features that are on the edge of premium.
