The Desires of Your Heart

Psalm 37:4 - Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

• A woman has been trying to get pregnant for over a decade now.
• A single woman has a home, a good job, and she loves the Lord. But she doesn't have the husband she's been desiring nor the child that comes after marriage.
• A mother desires healing for her child who suffers from sickle cell anemia. She's starting to question if her faith is strong enough.

According to Psalm 37:4,  the Lord will give these women the desires in their hearts. So, what's the problem?

As with all scriptures we must understand them in a larger context and in keeping with the character of God. What does the Word of God say about the heart? What does the Word of God say about desire? Will the Lord give us "our desires" or will He put "His desires" in our heart?
