I've been wary of comparisons of this year's presidential race with that of the 1980 Reagan/Carter. I'd love it if the comparison holds; even though the conditions aren't the same as in 1980.

There needs to be a sense of urgency in pushing the Romney campaign to improve, never taking anything for granted. The very end of the 1980’s campaign was not the cause of the bump to Reagan, but rather that it happened after the first (and only) debate of the campaign—a debate that was won decisively by the then challenger (Reagan) who was able to be both reassuring to undecided voters and who also presented a clear choice of ways ahead?

Ultimately this is what I hope Romney will succeed in doing in the next debates that will mirror his first debate; but will add even more.

Why should we vote for Romney is the focus of our radio program Thursday morning at 11:AM est OCT 18, 2012.
