    Uniting Barbers worldwide

    I want to welcome all the listeners to the Against The Grain radio show! This is a great media outlet to reach a select group of listeners. Although there are a great deal of barbers who are not even on line or better yet who do not even have a e-mail address. I want to begin the process of reaching these barbers and offering them an opportunity to have a voice in our industry. Against the Grain Magazine will be working on a campaign to reach out internationally to barbers around the world.

    In 2008, we will start with an event called "Barbers in Brazil" where we will attempt to conduct a knowledge transfer of our skills and practices here in the states and address many of the health issues facing the barbering profession worldwide. We are looking for sponsors to jump on board and support this event. We will also be working closely with the National Association of Barber Boards of America to help get a national barber stamp approved by the Citizen's Advisory Stamp Committee of the USPS. I look forward to the many interesting interviews and indepth conversations we will have with the movers and shakers of the barbering industry. Please look forward to hearing from master barbers from around our nation and as we continue to think outside of the box be prepared to see great things from the Against The Grain executive team.
