Dr Bob Allen, over the last ten years he has developed an extensive oral history research project on the Negro Leagues, having recorded nearly 400 hours with surviving players and others associated with the Negro Leagues. Samples of his work can be viewed at  dreamsdeferred.org. He currently teaches at Cumberland County College of New Jersey.

Mamie "Peanut" Johnson was the only female to pitch in the Negro League and was taught how by Satchel Page.
