My guest RICHARD PHILLIPS is the author of the sci-fi thriller "The Second Ship". PHILLIPS is a former Army Ranger officer and graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. He has worked on classified projects for the United States government at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where he also earned his Master of Science in nuclear physics. He currently resides in Phoenix, Ariz., where he is employed by General Dynamics and works on military simulation software for the U.S. government.
