Ciao, to all our loyal listeners who have displayed the most fervent sticktoitiveness with Afronerd Radio.  Let's just dig in, shall we? Check out the latest musings of your favorite podcast Hellfire Club members (Claire Lanay; Daryll B., Capt. Kirk and Dburt) as they discuss their analyses on the following pop culture faunae: it's that time of year again, people-the 2017 San Diego Comic Con is here and we will try to dissiminate some of the tidbits coming out by way of the left coast (Kingsmen 2, Inhumans, Avengers: Infinity Wars, The Defenders, Krypton, Black Panther animated, Ready Player One, The Punisher, The Gifted trailers, etc)  Dburt belatedly discusses the passing of Joan Lee, Stan the Man's wife and how she literally was the Gaia of the Marvel Universe; the writers of Game of Thrones appear to be channeling their inner Man in the High Castle by announcing a new alternate history/fiction TV series entitled, Confederate, which imagines an America where slavery never ended;  rumor has it that the WB may be getting rid of Ben Affleck's Batman and taking the character in a different direction (really?); Young Justice 3 makes its re-design reveal at SDCC (to be broadcast on DC's streaming service vs Netflix); is FOX actually angling for a solo Dr. Doom film (jeez);  resurrecting the old band-Grace Park and Tricia Helfer, along with other Battlestar Galactica alums reunited for a special SDCC panel;  And lastly, more Justice League footage gets revealed.  Could Taraji P. Henson's Proud Mary herald the return of blaxploitation genre (and more importantly could her character beat Charlize Theron's Atomic Blonde?) Call in LIVE at 646-915-9620.
