What's up, folks!  For brevity's sake, let's just jump into the festivities, shall we?  Join Dburt and Capt. Kirk for the latest episode of Afronerd Radio's Mid Week in Review podcast, airing this Wednesday at 7:30pm EST.  The topics du jour are (continued from this past Saturday's Grindhouse): we finally address the SC shootings/terrorism (Confederate flag removal, POTUS' Amazing Grace and Sean Hannity's hip hop rebuttal); our thoughts on The SCOTUS approval of same sex marriage for the nation in its entirety; a recenty scientic study using mathematical algorithms has determined that Hip Hop has made the greatest impact of all popular musical genres dating back to 1960; Dburt waxes about this past BET awards relating to the disrespect levied toward this year's recipient of Icon award, Janet Jackson; a recent GQ Magazine piece posits that the epicenter of new Black music can be found in the strip clubs of Atlanta (no one from GQ has heard of the Afropunk festival in Brooklyn, huh?).  And lastly, are we seeing the emergence of a new brand of activism via personalities, Deray Mckesson and Bree Newsome? (including a superhero themed tweet nod from filmmaker, Ava DuVernay).  Call the hosts live at 646-915-9620.
