Well folks, because of the gravity of events evidenced from the past few days, it appears that we may have to conduct another mashup broadcast, courtesy of Afronerd Radio.  So let's make this simple and plain.  Check out and listen to your "podcast enterprise crew" (Dburt, Capt. Kirk and Daryll B.), this Saturday at 6pm  as they discuss the following pop/pulp/political issues: we finally tackle the Esquire blog piece entitled, "Are Black Superheroes Good for Black People?";  can you believe that the vintage walkman used by Star-Lord in Guardians of The Galaxy is going for BIG bucks on Ebay? And could this be an indicator that Guardians is destined for Star Wars-esque status cinematically?; weighing in on the Michael Brown/Ferguson, Missouri police shooting as more information gets released; basketballer player, Gilbert Arenas twitter rants against Rev. Al; Dburt has absolutely no summer time TV programming complaints (except having enough time to watch what is available) ; Is there any iota of truth about Disney looking to buy the WB?; MSNBC journalist, T.J. Holmes gets critiqued in The Root for suggesting that Black men/boys comply when encountering police;  Comic Book Resources highlights the enduring relevance of Marvel's Luke Cage in the wake of real life Black male trials and tribulations; discussing the rift between Prince Namor and the Black Panther and can there be away for a Panther book to sustain readership if a new series is considered?; highlighting Black nerd/comic blogs of interest (i.e. Blacknerdgirl.com; Blackfolksmakingcomics; Africomics, etc) and lastly, speaking of nerds, Dburt "rewinds the tape" showing how the "nerd" pejorative is still alive among folks of color.  Call live at 646-915-9620!
